Persia meets Egypt: Iranian Oscar winner to grace Cairo Sufi Bookstore

A Separation (2011) has picked up a Golden Globe award for best foreign language film, a Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and an Oscar for best foreign film at the 2012 Academy Awards.

Written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, the Iranian domestic drama tackles traditions, relationships and divorce in modern-day Iran.

Starring Leila Hatami, Peyman Moaadi, Shahab Hosseini, Sareh Bayat, and Sarina Farhadi, the film was a major hit across the globe, earning much respect and shedding light on Iranian cinema.
