If you were hoping to enjoy a night of comedy by US stand-up comedian and actor Mike Epps in Saudi Arabia next week, don't hold your breath.
Epps's performance at the all-women Princess Noura University was cancelled after "complaints from Islamic hardliners," according to the event's organizers.
"Twitter users had started a hashtag, 'Hollywood at Noura University,' calling for the show's cancellation because it would not fit with local traditions," reported AFP.
Master Events, the organizing company, announced the news on Twitter: "Dear clients, we regret to inform you that the Mike Epps event has been cancelled."
"The show was cancelled by the university and not by us as organisers," Master Events said.
Ticket holders have been promised a full refund by the organizers.
