In an interview with Conan O'Brien, Bill Skarsgård talked about the smile he's been using to traumatise people as Pennywise in It.

It begins, he said, with his brother, fellow actor Gustaf Skarsgård. "He had this ability to point his lip in a very strange way," said Bill, adding that, at 10, he realised he could pull the same demonic rabbit grin.

And, like every great older brother on the planet, used it to torment the younger ones in the pack.

"I came up with this character called Jurgen and I would pull my t-shirt up over my head and do this face and I would chase my little brother," he said.

Skarsgård joked that, while his younger brother survived the experience mostly unscathed, he did feel echoes of childhood trauma watching It.
