This year's summer has been different for the Arab stars in Jeddah, as an elite group of the Arab cinema pioneers and renowned singers spent their summer vacation in private hospitals in the coastal Saudi City of Jeddah.
“Seeking treatment for health crisis was an opportunity for the fans to meet their favorite stars but this time in the hospitals,” the London-based Asharq al Awsat newspaper has reported.
Among these stars is Sabri Abdel Minem who is still in bed at Suleiman al Fakih’s hospital for convalescence and chemotherapy after the removal of a small tumor from his lung. His condition has been described as stable.
While Sabri was in the hospital the Kuwaiti singer, Abdulla al Rwaished, has received a full medical check up after suffering from digestive disturbances following the performance of his smash hit concert at Jeddah Festival.
Earlier, the Egyptian actor Younes Shalabi has suffered a relatively more serious condition and was moved from al Madinah al Muawwarah to Jeddah. Shalabi received treatment from a head stroke after he felt weakness in the right side of the body, but his doctor confirmed that the star returned to Cairo in stable condition.
And while the comedy star, al Muntaser Billah, was gearing up to present radio episodes as part of Jeddah summer entertainment program, he felt neck pain and circulatory disturbance which spurred him to undergo heart catheterization and regulation of blood sugar.
The star is still in Jeddah undergoing medical tests by his doctors who advised him to avoid hard work and refrain from smoking. - Albawaba.com
