The above video shows former Arabs Got Talent contestant Jennifer Grout perfectly singing Emirati superstar Ahlam's "Gool Anni Ma Tgool" (Say What You Want About Me) - a difficult song to master, may we add - back in February. But we loved her voice so much that we decided to share it with y'all!
American Jen shot to fame on the Arabic version of Got Talent in 2013 after mesmerizing our four celebrity judges Najwa Karam, Ahmed Helmy, Ali Jaber and Nasser al Qasasbeh with a rendition of Umm Kulthum's classic “Baeed Anak" (Far Away From You), accompanied by a stunning oud performance.
And that was just her first audition.
Jenny went on to captivate the AGT judges, live studio audience and viewers at home with more Arabic classics, until standing in the grand finale against dance troupe "Sima."
She might not have won the talent competition, but she certainly won millions of people's hearts across the world with her charming Arabic-singing, despite not speaking a word of it at the time.
“We have for so long imitated the West, and this the first time that a person who has no link whatsoever to the Arab world, an American girl who does not speak Arabic, sings Arabic songs,” Najwa once told her.
