International superstar Jennifer Lopez put on a spectacular show as the opening act of Morocco's 14th annual Mawazine Festival on Friday. But a large number of locals were more focused on what JLo was wearing than on her showstopping performance!
According to Al Watan Voice news, the 45-year-old singer's diamond-encrusted leotard, which she teamed with knee-high boots, and her sensual moves didn't go down too well with the more conservative local TV viewers, who demanded that the Communications Minister Mustafa Al-Khalfi is fired for broadcasting her act on Morocco's state TV.
Meanwhile, Al-Khalfi did not criticize Lopez directly, but he tweeted saying that the fact that the show was broadcast by the 2M public TV network - which airs all the Mawazine music festival's concerts - was "unacceptable" and "against the law," reported Fox News Latino.
Although thousands of the festival-goers were in awe of the beautiful Latina's sensational performance, the persons complaining described her stage attire as "skimpy and naked." While many thought the pop diva would tone down her look and dance moves in tune with Morocco's conservative culture, she wore very little and showed a lot of skin instead.
Many can argue that the brunette bombshell's wardrobe and choreography were too risqué for Muslim Morocco. However, some Arab stars, such as Lebanese Myriam Fares, dress and dance in a way very reminiscent of JLo's!
Also featured at the 14th annual edition of the 10-day long music festival are such international as Pharrell Williams, Sting, Maroon 5, Usher and Akon, as well as dozens of Arab and African acts, reported The Daily Mail.
