INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 01: John Cena during WrestleMania Goes Hollywood at SoFi Stadium on April 01, 2023 in Inglewood, California.

ALBAWABA - John Cena, who has been a professional wrestler for twenty years, stated on Saturday night that he would be retiring next year.

World Wrestling Entertainment fans in Toronto booed in dismay as the wrestler-turned-actor made a moving statement, announcing that the 2025 season would be John Cena's last. Despite promising supporters a farewell tour with dozens of shows and a monumental last bout, he insisted on staying engaged with the wrestling company that had given him his start.

Declaring that next year's "Royal Rumble," "Elimination Chamber," and "WrestleMania" will be John Cena's final events, Cena made the news on Saturday's "Monday in the Bank" Premium Live Event. During a press conference that followed the performance, Cena said that he would have maybe 30 or 40 gigs in January through December of 2025, and that would be it.

In his statement, John Cena said that he had contacted the WWE with the concept and that they had begun discussing how long it would take to implement the plan. There has been a meteoric rise in the company's profile. Some significant events are taking place, such as the launch of Netflix in January 2025, and I'm honored to be a person WWE can reach out to and ask, "Remember that idea?" "The moment has come." We should accomplish something that unites us all. We will try to execute their plans, and they will write the story.

John Cena, 47 years old, has been a WWE member since 2001 and made his wrestling debut in 2000. He is among the all-time greats in professional wrestling. Together with Ric Flair, he has 16 WWE world titles, which is the most ever recognized by the business. If the corporation decides to promote him to No. 17, this last run might be his chance.

John Cena has said that he would not wrestle beyond the age of 50. Wrestlers are notorious for never really retiring, but even Cena has said that he would never get violent again or serve as a guest referee.

People announce their intention to leave, but then they return after two years. To avoid any misunderstanding, I've concluded the matter. "This is it," said Cena. "If you've ever wanted to be a part of this final event, we're going all out and challenging everyone, and we hope you come and have a good time."

WWE CCO Paul Levesque gave a cagey response to questions about the ongoing federal investigation involving misconduct allegations against Vince McMahon. McMahon resigned from WWE and TKO in January following a civil lawsuit filed alleging sexual misconduct and trafficking. However, he has been under investigation for some time, and WWE indicated in the summer of last year that they were cooperating with the investigation.

At the WWE Money in the Bank presser, Levesque was asked whether the corporation was still collaborating despite the legal action being delayed in May while awaiting the inquiry.

"Yeah, I can't talk about legal stuff at the moment," he added.

Previously, he declined to address McMahon's departure at the Royal Rumble post-show presser. He chose to concentrate on the positives during the rumble; therefore, his language changed. His perspective on the topic is significant because of his son-in-law relationship with McMahon and his executive role during Janel Grant's allegations of sexual misconduct at WWE's corporate office. This was the only question he did not answer fully.
