The Jordanian director Mohammed Aziziyyah has begun shooting the episodes of his new series Desert Stories in a third artistic collaboration with writer Diab Eid who wrote for him the scripts for the two series Palace and Popular Legends.
The theme in the new series overlaps with the theme of the previous series “Popular Legends” by being a narrative drama derived from proverbs and stories used to circulate sometime in the Arab deserts stretching between Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
The series will be shot in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon and an elite number of the Syrian, Saudi and Arab drama stars will take part in it. These include Naser al Kasabi, Abdulla al Sadhan, Filda Sammour and Abdel Rahman Al Rashi.
“The series includes some documentation of a group of stories and biographies circulated in the Arabian deserts within the framework of search for everything original and real,” Diab told the daily al Bayan.
The writer added, “there are many books about these stories and proverbs whether in the Arab Peninsula, Yemen, Syria or al Sham countries. I basically depended on the writings of al Jahmani who specialized in this type of biographies and details.”—Albawab.com
