The Egyptian artist Ahmed Helmy denied Monday morning that he had participated in Ramez Galal's "Ramez Wakel Elgaw" show (Ramez in Control) reported Nawaret.
Helmy published a screenshot of an article saying “See now, Ahmed Helmy in Ramez wakel elgaw show.” He commented on the image saying “this is false news, I did not participate in Ramez’s show.”
Since Helmy had his Twitter and Facebook account hacked earlier this year, he's understandably cautious about the spreading of false news. He sent a warning to his fans saying “be careful this is most probably a virus or a hacking link.”
Ramez Galal's show is notorious for stitching up celebrities, who don't always take the joke so well. Witness Egyptian actress Athar al Hakim, who still hasn't forgiven him, and Mohammed Ramadan, who responded by beating Ramez up.
American socialite Paris Hilton, Syrian singer George Wassouf, Lebanese singer Assi Helani, Egyptian actors Mohammad Huneidi and Ahmed Bedair, are others who have been ensnared in Ramez's pranks.
"Ramez in Control" airs Thursday nights on MBC Masr.
