With sold-out shows across America, Canada and Europe already, Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ tour is proving to be a massive hit with young music fans.

The UAE’s Beliebers will already be in the know about the young Canadian sensation.

But here’s some fab facts for mums, dads, family and friends in case you’re also heading along to one of his two shows at The Sevens stadium on Saturday or Sunday:

New sensation

While pop stars such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake started early on the road to success with kiddie roles as Mousketeers in TV show ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’, young Canadian wannabe Justin had a different experience.

He was literally plucked from obscurity in 2007 when talent scout Scooter Braun found a home video clip of the youngster performing ‘Respect’, the Aretha Franklin hit from the 60s. He was just 12 when his mother started posting his videos online.

Making NEt gains

It was on the web that Braun found Bieber, and the pair were quick to harness the power of the internet. Performing cover versions of tracks from stars such as Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder on acoustic guitar, the ‘U Smile’ singer soon had a following that numbered in the thousands.

To date, he has a staggering 38 million Twitter followers and his youtube channel boasts an incredible 422,243,484 views.

Friends in high places

A self-taught musician, ‘One Time’ singer Bieber can play the drums, guitar and piano, as well as the trumpet. A talented dancer too, perhaps it’s no surprise that American music heavyweights Timberlake and Usher were both interested in the teen sensation.

In the end, it was ‘U Remind Me’ superstar Usher who struck a business deal with Scooter for Bieber, claiming “this kid has even more talent than I did at that age.”

star in his own rights.

Just 19, Justin has amassed an estimated net worth of around $110 million.

The ‘Somebody To Love’ star became the first solo artist to have four Top 40 singles in the US before even releasing an album. Justin is also the youngest artist in history to have five No. 1 albums in the US and not only that, he also got favourable reviews when he hosted Saturday Night Live, the iconic late-night comedy showcase on American TV, this year. There’s more to come too - he’s been writing ‘one or two’ songs a day on tour!

Sharing the love

From 2009 onwards, when he teamed up with rap star Ludacris for chart-topper ‘Baby’, Biebs has enjoyed some high-profile collaborations, including Jamaican rap star Sean Kingston, Jaden Smith and ‘Cooler than Me’ singer Mike Posner.

He’s down with the girls too, American Idol judge Nicki Minaj steals the show with her turn in 2012 hit single ‘Beauty and the Beat’.
