Kanye West has taken the first step to launch his own homeware line.
The 44-year-old rapper's company Mascotte Holdings, Inc. has filed a trademark application to use his name on a home decor line that will include a variety of products, according to TMZ.
The documents specify that the 'Kanye West' homeware line will include shower curtains, textile wall hangings, towels, placemats and an array of blankets.
The range plans to produce bed blankets, throw blankets and golf blankets using materials including silk, cashmere and fleece.
Mascotte Holdings, Inc has owned the rights to 'Kanye West' since 2004.
Kanye also has trademarked the name of his streetwear clothing line Yeezy, his film production company Half Beast and a beauty brand named after his late mother Donda, among others.
Kanye and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian have also trademarked the names of their four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm West.
Kim, 40, has also expressed an interest in expanding her billion-dollar empire to include home decor.
In September 2020, TMZ reported that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star had trademarked 'KKW Home' with plans to launch a range in stores that specialize in shower and bath items as well as an array of bedroom furnishings and accessories.
According to legal documents, KKW Home-branded products would include 'towels, shower curtains, textiles for home furnishings, comforters, aromatherapy diffusers, bath products, body sponges, bathroom candles, household containers for storing and organizing cosmetics.'
However, after Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, she went on to file a trademark for a homeware line under the name 'SKNN BY KIM.'
A source told Us Weekly that the television personality had been working on her home line for 'over a year.'
The source said, 'Kim is going to launch several candles, room scents, throws and decorative items and then will be launching furniture for every room in the home.'
Kanye and Kim share a penchant for minimalist design that was reflected in the $60 million home they designed together. The source told Us Weekly that her home collection would maintain a similar aesthetic.
'Kim's design aesthetic is luxe minimalist, lots of neutral colors with extravagant textures,' the source added.
Meanwhile, an insider told E! Online that the couple's marriage might not be over yet. The source said the Kardashian is 'open' to reconciling with West.
The source explained, 'Kim is not rushing the divorce.'
'She and Kanye are in a good place right now and she is not on a rushed timeline to push the divorce forward.'
