Syrian actress, Karis Bashar might not be known for her dramatic personal life but her character in new drama 'Al Umaymi' certainly is. Bashar plays the role of a poverty stricken girl - Manwar - who marries a man called Salamah. But all is not as it seems! Although Salamah is a loving husband, Manwar falls in love with his best friend, Abu Sardah.
Salamah, played by Syrian actor Abbas Al Nouri, is not going to take this lying down and begins on his quest for revenge against both his wife and his best friend.
Syrian dramas are not well known for extra-marital goings on so 'Al Umaymi' marks a new chapter in the country's soap operas. But Karis, not content with breaking boundaries playing the cheating wife, will also be taking the role of Dalilah in 'Dalilah wal Zaybaq', a woman who uses her beauty to deceive people. If we didn't know better we'd say there was a running theme developing!
