Yet another season of Arab Idol has come to a close, and this year a Syrian artist snatched the coveted title. Hazem Shareef is going home a winner, and we're wondering if Karis Bashar was his good luck charm.
The well-known Syrian actress was pretty much blown off by the judges at the beginning of the show, but she was live and in person to support of her co-patriot competitor at the semi-final episode of the program. She isn't standardly in the spotlight anyway, not holding interviews because she wants her achievements to speak for themselves, so it shouldn't be a surprise the cameras didn't tune in to her. Still, though, it has been standard practice for the judging panel made up of Ahlam, Nancy Ajram, Wael Kfoury, and Hassan El Shafei to say hi to any attending artist before the show begins.
Karis didn't seem to care that she was being snubbed. A smile never left her face, reports Al Jaras magazine. She kept clapping every time a contestant completed their performance.
Nancy made up for the mistake later, welcoming her and blowing her a kiss to say sorry for not giving props first off.
What do you think: was Hazem's voice worthy of his title, or did he win because of Karis his good luck charm?
