Khaled Al Nabawi has worked hard to bust out a beard, get his hair all long and slick, and grab just the right cigar to make him look the part of a scholar. All the Egyptian actor's attempts to resemble the character of the late Mustafa Mahmoud, however, still have not gotten the cameras rolling yet for his latest film.
The delay in filming gave rise to rumors that the drama is facing production obstacles, but Khaled slammed them down and stressed that the postponed production is only due to the extensive researach being performed to make the drama historically accurate, especially as it covers Mustafa's entire lifespan, according to Laha Magazine.
Other thespians waiting to roll tape for the film, written by Walid Yousif and directed by Mohammad Juma, include Nelly Karim as the lead, along with Hala Fakher, May Kassab, Bassem Samra and Ahmad Fahmi.
Legendary characters of Abdel Halim Hafez, Umm Kalthoum and many late celebrities make appearances throughout the film.
