Last month, Egyptian actor Khaled el Sawi revealed that he's battling the horrible disease Hepatitis C. At the time, he was determined to fight and beat the illness.

Laha Magazine reported Khaled as posting to his social media page, "Hepatitis C will not kill me, but I will kill it and I will get a hold of it and choke it to death with all my might."

While everyone cheered the brave star on since then, he had another surprise in store for his fans. In an interview on the talk show "Yahdoth Fi Misr" (Happening in Egypt), Khaled told the show's host Shareef Amer that his battle with the disease may not be as easy as he had imagined.

Al Sawi revealed that he's one of the unlucky 10% who aren't responsive to the treatment of Hepatitis C.

The actor added that he was diagnosed with the illness in 2005 while filming "Amaret Ya'koubian." He had never announced it to the public until now because he was doing a good job with conquering it.

Although the studio's audience were left in utter shock, Khaled kept his cool and optimistically spoke about his illness and how he still plans on facing it then making a strong comeback to the acting world.

What's on the horizon for Khaled? A new Ramadan TV series titled "Sa'louk," that is set to air in 2015.
