Prominent Egyptian director Khaled Yousif revealed his intention on presenting a new production project that will be a co-partnership between Egyptian, Arab and Western investors. The new project will focus on presenting true Egyptian art and will be able to compete with works produced by other companies.

Khaled denied rumors that he intends on using his Saudi wife’s money to fund the new project.

The director revealed that the project is based on the novel “Sirah Al Bati” by the late prominent author Yousif Idrees. Khaled stated that the project is the highlight of all his projects and will be a television drama and film to be filmed at the same time using one set and telling the same story. He said that this is the first time he will be directing a television drama, and hopes to have it ready for airing during the Ramadan season of 2012.

With regards to the rumor about using his wife’s money, Khaled said that his wife is not a producer to produce his films, in addition to the fact that he is not in need of her money to fund his projects.
