A veteran of the Egyptian TV scene, Laila Elwi was rumored to have stepped out of the limelight this year to avoid the Ramadan drama rush.
But according to Middle East news portal, Elaph, the much-loved star has caved in and agreed to once again take part in a TV series for the holy month.
This year she'll be starring in 'Usfoor al Janeh' (Heavenly Bird), directed by Khaled al Hajar. The soap was initially meant to be directed by Ali Idris but the Egyptian bigwig pulled out, worrying that cast and crew wouldn't have enough time to get the drama up to standard.
