The Cairo International Book Fair has designated a special section for the art activities, which will include screening the latest Egyptian films for the years 2000 and 2001 and some foreign films.
The fair will also include portraying plays by the Egyptian Hanager Troupe for Pop Arts, Egyptian Society for Theater Amateurs, Cultural Houses Agency, Performance Supporters Society, Young Workers General Union, Bakatheer Theatrical Society and Saad al Din Wahbeh Theatrical Troupe.
The new section supervisor, Mohyiddin Abdul Hayy, said that the Egyptian films to be screened include Gunoon al Hayat (Life Madness) starring Elham Shahin, Mahmoud Qabil; Emraah Tahet al Murakabah (Woman Under Supervision) starring Nabila Ebaid; Ard al Khawf (Land of Fear) costarring Ahmed Zaki and Hamdi Ghaith; al Asefah (Thunderstorm) costarring Yusra and Hisham Slim; Hello America costarring Adel Imam and Shireen; Souq al Mutaa (Pleasure Market) and al Nims (Mongoose) starring Mahmoud Abdul Aziz; Saidi Rayeh Gayy (Man from Upper Egypt Going and Coming) costarring Hani Ramzi and Nadeen; al Wardah al Hamraa (Red Rose) costarring Ahmed Ramzi and Mustafa Fahmi; Short, Fanellah Wa Kab (Short, Undershirt and Gown) starring Ahmed al Saqqa; Baliyyah Wa Dimaghoh al A’liah (Catastrophe and High Head) starring Mohammed Henaidi; Kursi Fi al Club (Chair in club) costarring Lucy and Medhat Saleh; al Nather (Headmaster) starring A’laa Waliyyiddin and Firket Banat Wabas (Girls Troupe Only) starring Maged al Masri.
The foreign films to be screened consecutively include Devils’ Defection, Attack on America, Killer Fact, Secret Agent, Silence of the Lambs, Mummy Return, Gladiator, Mission Impossible, Most Wanted, Woman Challenging Men and Blade.
As part of the artistic program, al Saraya will portray the plays al Bidayah (Beginning) directed by Tareq al Sibae’i; Taam al Mawt (Death Taste) directed by Mahmoud Mukhtar; Barrah al Gornal (Outside the Journal) by Subhi al Haggar; Tanweiat Shaabiyyah (Pop Diversities) by Tareq Zuhdi; Film Arabi (Arabic Film) by Essam Ramadan; Arbaa Wa Eshreen Saah (24 Hours) by Ibrahim al Sheikh; and Hadikat al Hayawanat (Zoo) by Hisham Atwah.
The plays directed Ibrahim Rafiq which be staged include Hizz Ya Doctor (Shake it Doctor) and Sihr al Sharq (orient Charm).
The Cultural Palaces AgencyTroupe will stage the play Nathrah (Outlook) directed by Ahmed Taha on the great poet Salah Gahin -- Albawaba.com
