Tunisian singer Latifa finally broke her silence after recent rumors began circulating regarding the nature of the relationship between her and Lebanese artist Ziad Rahbani. The singer stated that she truly loves and respects Ziad but not in an intimate way.
According to the London based Elaph, Latifa described her relationship with Ziad as an innocent one stating that Ziad is a person whom she truly admires and respects for his great achievements in the entertainment world. She added that Ziad is an honest, simple and down to earth person and she considers her relationship with him as a great achievement.
Latifa stated that the allegations of a romance with Ziad are absolutely not true and they are friends and have a common business interest. She revealed that they meet at the Rahbani Studio, which is owned by Ziad, to work on new project and discuss different matters like any two friends.
On a different note, Latifa surprised her fans when she announced that she will appear as a guest star in the television drama series “Lahthat Harija” (Awkward Moments). The drama features a number of prominent actors like Yusra and Muna Zaki and will be screened on the Dubai satellite television channel.
The drama, directed by Sharif Arafa, will mark Latifa’s third endeavor as an actor. The first was her role in the film “Sukoot Han Sawar,” (Quiet Filming in Process) directed by Yousif Shahin and she also appeared in the Lebanese play “Hukim Al Reyan.” (Rules of the Shepherds)
Latifa has joined the production company ‘Rotana,’ after signing a contract with president Salem Al Hindi at a special ceremony. Salem met with Latifa at the company’s offices in Beirut for the ceremony and expressed his gratitude for her joining the company.
The agreement was reached between the two parties after long negotiations. Latifa held negotiations with with ‘Alam El Phan’ and ‘Rotana’ consecutively in an effort to choose the most appropriate company.
