Tunisian singer Latifa stated that she is heartbroken over the devastating conditions in Syria. She said that watching so many innocent people die every day is heart breaking and needs to end. Laifa said that people are only asking for freedom and democracy and should not be punished for doing so.
According to the internet website MBC.net, the singer noted that she prays all the suffering and bloodshed would come to a top and conditions are stable once more in Syria to avoid more casualties.
With regards to the Egyptian January25 Revolution, Latifa stated that the revolution is not over yet and Egypt has a hard road ahead to rebuild and reform and achieve all the goals of democracy.
Latifa said that the Tunisian revolution has proven to be a success with a newly elected president and parliament. She added that she is proud that such revolutions are taking place in the Arab world because they are an indication that people have finally stood up against corruption and injustice and are demanding for their freedom to live in democratic countries.
