Three of Lebanon's most beloved singers will be wowing crowds at the 15th annual Mawazine Festival in Rabat, Morocco World News reports.
Diana Haddad, known as “the princess of Arab music,” returns to the Nahda stage on Friday, May 20, opening night. She first performed at Mawazine in 2009.
Haddad shot to fame following her 1997 debut single entitled “Saken” in 1997. Her fluency in several Arab dialects has sustained her popularity, with millions of fans in Morocco alone. As a tribute to her Moroccan fans, Haddad released 'La Fiesta', sung in in Darija, or Moroccan Arabic Dialect, in 2013.
New mum Myriam Fares will perform on Sunday, May 22 at Nahda stage. Fares gained popularity via her videos on YouTube, which showcased her fusion style of traditional music and pop.
Last but certainly not least, Yara will appear on the Nahda stage on Tuesday, May 24. The singer won hearts as the winner of the TV musical competiton Kass El Nojoum, followed by a popular duet with Palestinian singer Fadel Shaker.
The 15th annual Mawazine Festival is scheduled to take place in Rabat May 20–28. As per previous years' format, the festival will include performances by both international and regional artists. Iraqi superstar Kadim Al Saher and American diva Christina Aguilera have so far been confirmed as headliners for this year's festival. Last year's international acts included Jennifer Lopez, Maroon 5, Akon and Sting.
