Lebanese singer Madonna publicly stated that she considers the 1990s generation of singers, which includes Lebanese singers Najwa Karam, Nawal Al Zoughbi, Nancy Ajram, Elissa and Haifa Wahbi, to be of low quality and lacking any real singing talent.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Madonna stressed that she deserves the title of ‘Lady’ given to her by George Ibrahim Khoury for the mere fact that she is a symbol of elegance, etiquette, good manners, looks and style, culturally educated and makes dashing public appearances.

Madonna stated that the generation of Najwa, Nawal, Elissa, Haifa and Nancy present songs that are not appealing or of high standards, even the music videos they release are of very low quality and taste and she (Madonna) rarely listens and watches any of their songs and videos.

Madonna added that many female singers tried to reach the level of expertise she did but all failed and they all attempted to imitate her style. She said that she thanks God that all these singers consider her a role model and wish to be at the level where she is at today.
