It goes without saying that Lebanese designers have wowed audiences at almost every global art or entertainment event.

This season Georges Hobeika proved to be the darling of international stars who attended the 68th edition of the renowned Cannes Film Festival. World renowned designer Elie Saab also dressed a number of A-listers who traveled to Cannes for the film festival.

French actresses, meanwhile, were all over Zuhair Murad’s designs.

Actresses Eva Longoria, Michele Laroque, Virginie LeDoyen, Charlotte Le Bon and Cansu Dere and Russian model Tatiana Dziahileva, to name a few only, hit the festival’s legendary steps wearing Hobeika’s ultra-Parisian frocks.

Lebanese filmmaker Nadine Labaki, a member of the Jury for Cannes’ cinefondation and short films competitions, will make a highly anticipated appearance on the red carpet on May 22 wearing Hobeika.

Iranian-Dutch blogger and style icon Negin Mirsalehi looked gorgeous for the premiere of Gus Van Sant’s “The Sea of Trees” in a shimmering red ball gown featuring a tulle illusion and an embroidered bodice from Hobeika’s fall-winter 2014-2015 couture collection.

Mirsalehi wore Hobeika a second time for the premiere of “Carol” and at the Women in Motion dinner held on the sidelines of the Cannes film festival. Mirsalehi selected a blue and purple sleeveless cocktail dress embellished with Swarovski-embroidered petals from the fall-winter 2014-2015 couture collection.

Longoria looked svelte and fabulous for the 2015 Global Gift Gala in Cannes.

As the host of the event, she wore a fitted metallic silver gown with a plunging V neck line and bow-tie waist belt from the GH by Georges Hobeika collection.

Turkish actress Cansu Dere, who in Lebanon is best known for her role as Aisha in the TV series “Ezel,” captivated the red carpet of the “Vice Versa” event. She wore a white, sleeveless jumpsuit with an embroidered bodice, bow-tie waist belt and a dramatic shoulder train from Hobeika’s spring-summer 2015 couture collection.

Award-winning Malian singer Rokia Traore was gorgeous in Hobeika at the opening red carpet of the festival. Elegant and captivating, Traore donned a red, flowing crepe and chiffon dress with a bowtie waist belt from the fall-winter 2014-2015 collection.

Meanwhile, fashion watchers hailed actress Andie MacDowell’s choice in attire, with the Associated Press calling her ensemble the “look of the day.” MacDowell wore a coral gown from Elie Saab’s ready-to-wear collection.

“Andie MacDowell has been coming to Cannes for some 30 years, and she still knows how to slay on a red carpet,” AP wrote, adding that MacDowell’s “show-stopping” outfit reigned as one of the highlights of Day Six at the Cannes Film Festival.

For the Monday evening premiere of Pixar’s “Inside Out,” the 57-year-old actress looked radiant when the setting sun glistened warmly off the gown’s sparkling embellishments, and a daring deep V-neckline oozed sensuality and confidence.

Also at the “Inside Out” premiere, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor wore a daring “feathery” lime green evening gown from Elie Saab’s haute couture collection.

Two Lebanese fashion bloggers Lana El Sahely author of L’Armoire de Lana and Samar Seraqui de Buttafoco author of Une Libanaise a Paris also wore Elie Saab.

A third Lebanese designer whose dresses turned heads at the Cannes red carpet was Zuhair Murad. French actress Melanie Laurent chose a silver silk tulle gown with short sleeves and boatneck, bejeweled with sequins and crystals from the spring 2015 haute couture collection.

French film, television and voice actress Frederique Bel wore a black sleeveless evening gown with white panel accents and a plunging neckline from Murad’s pre-fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Meanwhile, Chinese actress Li Bingbing appeared in Cannes wearing a long light blue silk tulle sheath gown with train overlay and crystal detailing and a metal belt from the spring 2015 couture collection.
