Liam Payne is selling his lavish five bedroom, eight bathroom mansion in Los Angeles for a cool £9.8 million ($13.9million), amid claims his relationship with girlfriend Cheryl is on the rocks.

The 9,659 square-foot property, located in the luxurious Calabasas region, comes with its own spa, vineyard and even a meditation centre - and is where the couple spent much of Cheryl's pregnancy back in 2016.

Liam purchased the pad back in 2015 for £8million, but has put it on the market amid claims his relationship with former X-Factor judge Cheryl is 'strained'.

The huge property boasts a number of unique features including a meditation teahouse in the five acre grounds, a private vineyard and even a Koi Pond.

As well as the main house, Liam's property also includes two sizable guest houses and a guard house for security staff, which along with state of the art security systems make the pad the perfect abode for any privacy-loving star.

The property, a short drive away from Malibu's sandy beaches, features beautiful oak and sycamore tree-laden grounds as well as a resort style pool and spa.

An 'outdoor living room' with a kitchen and BBQ area makes for the perfect spot of unwinding after a quick dip, while a home cinema and games room, complete with pool table, table football and arcade machine, provide entertainment on colder nights.

The house nestles in the hills of Calabasas - famously home to the a number of celebrities including Drake, Miley Cyrus and the Kardashian family, who happen to be good friends with Cheryl.

Liam purchased his LA pad in 2015 for a hefty £8 million, and listed it for rent in April 2017 - making around £32,000 a month for the five bedroom, eight bathroom mansion.

However back in October 2017, the former One Direction star claimed the pad was haunted, and revealed Cheryl refused to sleep beside him in the bedroom.

Speaking to The Sun, he explained a random woman had approached his mother on the street to inform him the ghost of the previous owner resides in the property.

He said: 'Cheryl wouldn't stay in the top room, being pregnant with the baby. I've seen lights go on and off in the middle of the night and a few little creepy things, like taps turning on and off.

'If you don’t believe in it, I don’t think it can get to you. But Cheryl was like, 'I'm not sleeping upstairs'. So we slept downstairs in the cinema room. First World problems.'

The news that Liam is selling his pad in LA comes amid swirling rumours he is set to split with his former Girls Alous star girlfriend Cheryl.

It also follows claims Cheryl too, is planning to move house from the £5million mansion in Woking, Surrey that she shares with Liam and their son Bear, in order to be closer to her best friend Kimberley Walsh.

A source told The Sun that Cheryl is keen to explore a move to Barnet in North London where her former bandmate lives with her partner Justin and two children.

The insider added that Cheryl is hoping to buy a larger property for the family after a plan to extend their existing home was rejected.

Liam and Cheryl have been plagued by split rumours since the start of the month - with a source telling MailOnline that they are struggling to find quality time together, as they juggle their busy careers and care for their 11-month-old son, Bear.

The insider claimed their relationship is 'strained', as the former One Direction star is spending nights away from home and touring the world with his solo album, while she looks after their baby son.

Cheryl is thought to be spending much of her time at home on her own with Bear, because she would rather stay in watching TV than go out to showbiz parties.

The source said: 'Cheryl basically went into hibernation when she got pregnant and has made the decision to be a stay at home mother with no nanny and is looking after bear herself. She doesn't like going out much as she used to.'

The pair put on a united front at the BRIT Awards last week, but many accused the pair of putting on an over-amorous display, and claimed their appearance was a stunt.

It was then reported the pair stayed in separate accommodation that evening - with Liam sleeping in a hotel near to London Heathrow ahead of his working trip to the States and Cheryl returning to their Surrey mansion, which is a 30-minute drive from the airport.

Despite the claims, Cheryl took to Twitter to defend her relationship with Liam on Thursday and denied that they were on the brink of a break-up.

Posting to her 6.4million followers, she wrote: 'Oh stop no one cares who's been speculatively arguing or not in their relationship use your platform to put something productive in your columns. I opened a centre this week that could help thousands of youth!!!!'

Before adding of their BRITs appearance: '...Oh and your 'stunt' theories are just ludicrous and a bit weird'.
