ALBAWABA - In response to a recent South Park prank using Ozempic and other diet pills, Lizzo has spoken out.

The 36-year-old singer, who encourages body acceptance in her songs and online, was the subject of alarming accusations of weight shaming by her backup dancers in August of last year. She vehemently rejects the accusations.

Lizzo, whose actual name is Melissa Jefferson, said that the fact that South Park included her in a joke about people being OK with their weight demonstrated her success in combating fatphobia.

In a video that she uploaded to TikTok, she gave a good review of the Ozempic episode of South Park and remarked that the sequence, including her name, showcases her fame.

To the point where these guys in Colorado know who I am and put it in a 25-year-old cartoon, I truly showed the world how to love yourself and not care,' she said. Writing partners Trey Parker and Matt Stone developed South Park in 1998.

The Ozempic special introduced the medicine to one of the main characters, Eric Cartman. Originally marketed for weight reduction, it now serves as a treatment for type 2 diabetes.

A lady who was self-conscious about her weight announced that she was now taking a medicine called "Lizzo" that "controlled all her cravings to be thinner." in a joke that made fun of Lizzo.

"I demonstrated to you all how to be indifferent, and I will continue to demonstrate this to you," Lizzo said.

In an interview with NBC News in the United States last year, the dancers who had sued Lizzo said that she had weight-shamed them.

In their complaint against Lizzo, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez all accused Lizzo of making the workplace uncomfortable and harassing them sexually.

They claimed that Lizzo recorded a meeting due to a health issue, then dismissed her when she weight-shamed one of them.

The singer disputes the allegations, including that she pushed one of her accusers to touch a naked dancer at a strip club.

Claiming she was "not the villain" and describing the claims as "gut wrenching" and "difficult," Lizzo released a statement at the time.
