In the new drama that will bring prominent Algerian singer Warda, back to the scenes after a 25-year absence, the singer began suffering from circulating rumors about her and young Egyptian actor/singer Khaled Salim, whom she is playing the leading role with.
Rumors in the entertainment world have stated that some form of romance occurs between Khaled and Warda especially after the latter had made it a point to adopt Khaled's music and help give him the boost he needs to make it big.
It was added that Warda is witnessing severe criticism over the alleged relationship, especially due to the fact that she has two daughters Khaled's age.
Recently, journalists invited to a ceremony marking the commencement of filming of the upcoming television drama “Aan El Awan” (The Time Has Come) starring Algerian singer Warda, left disappointed and outraged after they were denied interviews, only permitted to photograph.
Warda refused to hold any interviews, claiming she did not have enough time.
Journalists stressed that the singer's actions were inappropriate, especially since they were formally invited to cover the event in advance.
Composer and producer Salah Al Sharnoubi revealed that in addition to the singer being preoccupied with filming, her condition does not allow for her to exhaust herself. Her son requested Salah to limit her participation at the ceremony to taking pictures, he explained.
Warda had requested the producers make sure the role is suitable for her age and does not endanger her reputation as a singer.
