Mariah Carey, also known as the "Queen of Christmas," has officially declared the start of the holiday season.
In her annual Nov. 1 tradition, Carey shared a video on Instagram showcasing her emergence from a block of ice, exclaiming, “It’s…… TIME!!!” As the clock struck midnight, the vault door swung open, revealing Carey donned in a Mrs. Claus-style jumpsuit, encased in ice. A group of individuals in Halloween costumes, including a pumpkin head and a Scream mask, worked to thaw her out using hairdryers. With a high-pitched proclamation of "It's time!" from Carey, the festivities kicked off.
Her iconic holiday song, "All I Want for Christmas Is You," provided the soundtrack as Carey frolicked in the snow, joined by her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who were also adorned with festive lights around their necks.
Carey captioned the Instagram post with, “It’s…… TIME!!! 🎃🧊🎄 #MariahSZN,” signaling the official start of what she dubs "MariahSZN."
Even before Carey's announcement, Kris Jenner expressed her eagerness for Carey's annual Christmas return during a recent dinner catch-up. The Kardashian star posted a selfie of the two, stating, “Catching up and trying to convince her 'it’s time'!!!!!🎅🏼🎄.”
Carey's holiday anthem, "All I Want for Christmas Is You," stands as the best-selling Christmas song of all time. In 2019, during its 25th anniversary year, the song reached No. 1 on the charts. Last year, it secured the top spot on Billboard's Greatest of All Time Holiday 100 Songs list, solidifying its enduring popularity.
