He plays a CIA operative looking to save millions of lives by preventing a terrorist attack.

And Mark Wahlberg will soon be back in action on the the silver screen in the Peter Berg thriller Mile 22.

The 47-year old superstar was all-smiles as he joined some of his co-stars - which included Lauren Cohan and former MMA/UFC star Ronda Rousey - on the red carpet for a photocall in Beverly Hills.

As is his style, the Boston-native appeared to be easy-going while keeping things casual in the fashion department wearing black jeans, a blue sweater and a pair of light brown sneakers.

He had his hair styled back and parted to the left.

His male castmates - Iko Uwais and Carlo Alban - also went the casual route but in Khakis and t-shirts.

Cohan, best known for battling zombies on the hit series The Walking Dead, stunned in a purple sleeveless dress that hugged her lean figure.

Her brown tresses were worn just off her shoulders and parted slightly to the left.

Rousey - who looked remarkably different from her days when she ruled the women's division of Ultimate Fighting Championship- went with a more summer-chic look in a loose-fitting green full-length dress.

The 31-year-old athlete tied back half of her chestnut brown hair, with tendrils cascading down her back.

The film's director, Peter Berg, was also on hand and appeared to play the jokester with Wahlberg, as they laughed and smiled on the red carpet.

Berg has directed Wahlberg for his last four movies: Mile 22 (2018), Patriots Day (2016), Deepwater Horizon (2016) and Lone Survivor (2013).

In an interview with Vulture, Wahlberg talked about how their collaboration and friendship came to fruition.

'Ari (Wahlberg's heavyweight agent Ari Emanuel) had been trying to put us together for a long time,' he said. 'Then Lone Survivor was there. I was in a position to help Berg get that movie made. Once we started, I was like, If I could work with this guy, it would be fantastic. And I’ve worked with a lot of people I’ve liked, who I have both professional and personal relationships with. There’s just something about him. He’s like a brother.'

The film opens in theaters across the U.S. on August 17.
