Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, made a first public appearance on Wednesday, December 4, when she went to the Paley Honors Fall Gala in Los Angeles to attend an event honoring her close friend Tyler Perry.
Since her husband, Prince Harry, was in New York for The New York Times' Dealbook Summit, Markle went to the event by herself.
Meghan sat close to Perry at the event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where his media accomplishments were honored, and she was also pictured standing by him on the red carpet. Notably, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex served on the committee that organized the event.
After she and Prince Harry left their positions and responsibilities in the British royal family and relocated to the United States in 2020, their love grew closer. They struggled during the Corona pandemic to find a new place to call home. Initially, the couple relocated to Canada, but after their location became public, Perry offered his Beverly Hills house as a secure and safe residence, ensuring complete privacy for them. Their daughter Lilibet now has Tyler Perry as her godfather.
Perry talked candidly about his relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2023, saying, "Everyone assumed Oprah had introduced us, but even Oprah was unaware that I had contacted them. Years ago, I told them, 'If you need anything, I'm here,' via our joint press office. Meghan called me months later and spoke to me as though I were a therapist. Our romance started after we had a wonderful talk.
He went on: "Having a safe place to go where they can talk freely and receive objective advice from someone who doesn't want anything from them is crucial for people in this industry." It was incredible how long they hid in my house.

Meghan, 43, looked stunning in a black Oscar de la Renta dress, accessorizing it with Celine shoes, a Cartier Love necklace, and a handmade Logan Hollowell necklace. Her natural makeup accentuated her stunning features, and she wore her famed black hair in a sleek updo.
