Christmas is fast approaching, and while most of us wish for world peace - especially in the birthplace of Jesus; Palestine - during this time of year, there are some things that seem much too difficult to make come true (even by a Christmas miracle).
A singer by the name of Bashar Murad wrote a short film titled "The Door," which narrates the overdue journey of Santa Claus on his way to deliver gifts to the children of Palestine.
He, of course, is faced with The Wall, which was built by the Israeli government and separates the West Bank from Israel.
As Santa tries to figure out a way to cross over the Christmas presents to the eager kids in Palestine, he walks away in despair after failing to throw them over the wall to the other side.
But before returning to the North Pole, Santa leaves a powerful message on The Wall: "Merry Christmas from the Unholy Land."
A moving song accompanies the film. Here are the lyrics - written and sung by Murad:
"I try my best to remember
The beauty of the fleeting sense of time
I tried to make it by December
But all along it’s been a rough and lonely ride
but I keep trying…
I crossed the ocean blue
To try and get to you
I broke the borders, too
I can’t unlock the door
If only I could fly
I’ll be there by morning light
It’s easy to feed the fight
When all you’ve known is war
So let’s unlock the door…"
The video was shot in Mount of Olives and Ras al-Amud, and was recorded and produced by Sabreen Association for Artistic Development, Jerusalem.
