Prominent Egyptian actress Mervat Amin has declined all recent offers to star in upcoming films, stating that she does not want to ruin the image she has worked so hard to create since the beginning of her career.

“How can I accept roles as a guest of honor or as supporting cast, after the long journey I have taken, and after all the honorary awards I have received,” Mervat mused.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Mervat also noted that she declined offers to star in international films due to the weakness of the scripts, in addition to the fact that the roles she was offered were minor and did not suit her.

The actress stressed that her focus on television drama is not a substitute for the cinema, and that all of the dramas she has starred in have augmented her career and her image.

Mervat asserted that she is very satisfied with her looks and never saw the need to undergone any form of plastic surgery.

“I do not believe anyone should change the appearance God gave them, and I warn all those who undergo plastic surgeries of the consequences they will face down the road,” Mervat admonished.

“I maintain my looks by exercising regularly, eating healthy, and getting the right amount of sleep.  Most importantly, I hate no one so as not to reflect such negative emotions on my face, and in turn I lead a healthy and peaceful life,” she explained.

Mervat denied circulating rumors of her involvement with a wealthy businessman, stating that falling in love is not on her agenda at the current time.

The actress is currently filming the final scenes of her upcoming television drama “Riyah al Ghadr” (Winds of Deception), directed by Rida Al Najjar.
