Prominent Syrian singer Miada Al Hinawi, will be in Cairo the third day of “Eid Al Fitr” (Breaking of fasting holiday) to record the song “Meen fil Ashiqeen” (Who Among Lovers). The song is written by the poet Mohammad Hamza and written by the late renowned composer Baligh Hamdi.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the song was supposed to be sung by the distinguished late singer Umm Kalthoum over 25 years ago. Several sessions were held with the late singer in the recording studios, but due to the descending health condition of Umm Kalthoum the job was left undone. The song written by Mohammad Hamza and composed by one of the greatest composers in history was put aside left on the shelves with only one recording for the late singer.
Later on Mohammad Hamza gave the rights of the song to Muhsain Jaber, who was shocked with the reactions of a number of Arab singers fighting and competing to sing the song. Hamza’s choice fell on the Syrian singer Miada Al Henawi due to the greatness of her voice.
On a different note, the daily reported that Miada’s fame in Cairo was a result of her hit “Ana Ba’sha’ak” (I’m In Love With You) written and composed by the notable Baligh Hamdi. Miada was quick to agree on the singing of the new song due to the fact that the great composer’s name is among the list of people who worked on it. -Albawaba
