Is this really the most beautiful woman in Jordan? According to an unknown judging panel, Zeina al Alami has been crowned Miss Jordan 2014.

The announcement was made public this week, but when did the competition take place and where? That's the question on every Jordanian's lips right now, but without anyone to answer them!

And although "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," Jordanians didn't take the news too well. Not because they're against a beauty pageant in their not-so-conservative country, but because they've accused the newly crowned "Queen" of being, well, very ugly!

The Arabic hashtag for #Miss_Jordan has been the highest trending on Twitter (in Jordan) since Tuesday, with confused tweeps acting as "judges" by pouring in with thousands of sarcastic and harsh comments about Zeina's "scary makeup" and "man-like features."

One Twitter user, @TamerGar, jokingly posted an ugly pic of him with the caption, "Maybe she's a lovely individual... prettier than me, anyway."

Meanwhile, @GigiMezyed wrote, "My friends are actually asking me if Jordanian girls are that ugly."

Jordanian journalist Dana Abu Laban sarcastically tweeted, "I didn't know we had a Miss Jordan... and I wish I hadn't found out about it."

While the hot girls in US singer will.i.am's music video told him "I got it from my Mamma," the jury's still out on where Zeina's good looks, or lack of them, came from!

In her defense, Zeina told Jordanian Roya TV that she's terribly disappointed with Jordanians' reactions towards her and wishes they'd researched her work and all the good things she's done for her country before judging her!

In an interview with Al Ghad Al Arabi TV, the 27-year-old admitted that she entered the competition because "it's an unusual experience and every girl's dream!"

Many had a "say whaaaat?" moment after finding out that Miss Al Alami was given the same title in 2013! Who's behind this underground event and why did they keep it on the down low?

The winner has been working in tourism for over ten years and was honored for her charity work as a "Tourism Ambassador" in Egypt on several occasions.

She's now in Egypt on yet another tourism mission, but will be entering the world of showbiz too, now that she's a "starlet" and all!
