Bella Hadid has a heart of gold. While her sister Gigi is busy dominating the fashion world, Bella is helping a good friend with a good cause!
The 18-year-old Palestinian-Dutch model posted an Instagram post urging her 1.1 million fans to help the needy in South Sudan as a "birthday gift" to her friend Nicholas Lindsey.
Bella captioned the graphic picture of a malnourished Sudanese child, saying, "Happy birthday my love...thank you for all that you do and the person that you are. @malibututors Being the amazing soul that he is, instead of birthday gifts he is asking for something else. He recently posted about how South Sudan is facing the worst food shortage in the world. If you can, please donate to "the Planting Peace Fundraiser" to help deworm one million children(who should have never have to grow up in a world where little things to us cost more than their entire days meal...if they are even lucky enough to get a meal) just $1 deworms 10 beautiful children. Please please donate what you can or repost to show awareness. Http://www.crowdrise.com/southsudanfamine link is in my bio ...I want to be able to use this platform to help the world even if it is just to put out awareness. love you all! Thank you and happy birthday to a real life angel @malibututors."
While Bella asked for help with good intentions in mind, hundreds of angry critics were skeptical, suggesting that she and her wealthy network of friends donate from their own money and "practice what they preach."
"Celebrity talk is cheap! feed them with your unbelievable wealth. You could probably feed a small country with your family's money. Hypocrites lol," a user named jbizzlle commented.
In other news, Bella showed off her long logs in a nude pink dress at the Launch of Samsung’s Fall Lookbook at the Samsung Galaxy Studio in Soho on Thursday night (August 13) in New York City. The event was Samsung's attempt to befriend technology with the fashion world.
"I haven’t seen many tech companies create a campaign that’s this fashion-forward, so I loved being a part of it and bringing fashion and technology together in such a unique way!” Ms. Hadid said in a statement."
Bella was spotted snapping selfies using the Galaxy S6 edge+, and they were nothing short of her usual glamorous FB and Instagram snaps.
But the beautiful brunette wasn't there just to test out the new device's camera. Bella is also the cover model for the brand's fall launch lookbook, a collection of editorial spreads shot by photographer Steven Klein, advertising Samsung's new products, reported the Observer.
