Has Saudi legend Mohammed Abdu, AKA the Singer of Arabs, been slacking off lately? Well, the star admitted that his most recent songs are of lower standards than the previous ones he's come out with – you know, over the past 30+ years or so!

Mohammed said: “I can't but admit that my latest work is of a much lower standard than the songs I've presented in the past. The main reason is that there no longer exists any strong lyrics or themes to sing about. This doesn't mean that the efforts of young poets are going to waste, but there are no topics that are attractive or worth singing about.”

don't be too harsh on yourself, Moe!

According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, Abdu was subjected to harsh criticism after his recent music video for the song “Wahda Bi Wahda” (One for one), which was aired during the Muslim holiday Eid El Fitr.

In the video, Abdu dressed much younger than his 64 years. The clip was hip-hop-inspired and was filmed in a nightclub setting, which totally contradicted Mohammed's classic style.

Abdu's fans were less-than-impressed with his “new look” and felt that it was unsuitable for someone with such a prestigious place in the music industry.

Maybe the gangsta look isn't really what Moe should be going for after all!
