Dating a celebrity certainly comes with its perks. But if you're a celeb who's marrying into showbiz, there's only space for one of you under the spotlight.

This is the case for newly-engaged Mohammed Assaf, who, according to Al Jaras Magazine, has asked his fiance Palestinian TV presenter Lina Qishawi to quit her job once they've tied the knot!

Egyptian superstar Tamer Hosny asked his now wife Basma Bousel to quit singing when they got married, but she doesn't seem to mind being a stay-at-home mama.

Sources claim that Assaf and Lina have come to a mutual agreement for her to say goodbye to life in front of the TV screen and hello to a life behind the scenes as Assaf's doting wife.

Assaf said in a recent press release that he wants Lina to "quit the media completely and move away from the spotlight. She will also never appear in any of my music videos because I want her to be as far away from showbiz as possible."

The Arab Idol announced his engagement on Facebook last month and will be marrying in the next few months in Palestine.

Lina made her first public appearance as Assaf's fiance in London on Monday at the premiere of his biopic The Idol.
