The Moroccan director Nabil Abboush’s movie, Ali Zaoua, has won last the grand prize at the 17th African Film Festival in Wagadouga, Porkina Fasso on Saturday, reported AFP.
The Tunisian head of jury, Farid Bou Ghdair attributed the film’s victory to its “emotional impact and the outstanding direction of the actors who were all children.”
The jury head added that the movie won the Grand-Prix for featuring “the current miserable conditions of the African children and for its language which succeeded in conveying the message of a local African reality to the outside world”.
The film will be awarded a bronze cup with the picture of the revolt princess Beninga on the back of a wild horse estimated at 7,622 Euro – Albawaba.com
