The multinational best-seller behind Dettol and Airwick ‘Reckitt Benckiser’ has chosen Egyptian actress Muna Zaki to be the new face for their award-winning hair-removal product Veet in the Middle East.
The announcement of this Egyptian choice was made during a grand Cairo-esque affair at one of the capital's plush hotels. Muna's face will be fronting the company’s campaign titled “The Secret of Beauty 2012”. According to the London's Elaph, Muna was nominated by the company as the most beautiful star in Egypt and her face is now spearheading a huge advertising campaign created for the new line of products.
A press conference was held for the event in which Muna spoke. She stressed that she takes great pride in women’s beauty products and will make sure the latest edition by the company is well-marketed in Egypt. She added that when a celebrity represents a certain brand it can be a risky business because he/she must be confident in their endorsement and value the product personally and expect it to add value to their name in return. Muna said that she makes it a point to take part in advertising for internationally known brand names.
Muna revealed that the commercial for leading depilator Veet was filmed in Beirut under the direction of a French director. She said that the filming process was hectic but their efforts were not in vain. They spared no expense to ensure that they put forward a quality ad deserving of the star-personality and the star-brand.
