Nabila Obeid quits being a slayer

Prominent Egyptian actress Nabila Obeid has regretfully backed out from her previous decision to star in the new television drama series “Raya wi Iskeena”, which is based on the popular folktale. Despite the fact that the story had really interested her, Nabila stressed that she had to turn down the offer for the leading role for personal reasons and not because the script.

 

Nabila revealed that she is currently working on a new television drama, but refused to give out any details stressing that talking about a any project in the making phase only hurts it. Work had already began for the preparation of the new television drama “Raya wi Iskeena”, in order to have it ready for filming at the end of March 2005.

 

Scenarist Mustafa Muhram, who has written some of the most popular television dramas this past Ramadan season, revealed that the script is still being prepared and that he had nominated prominent Egyptian actresses Nabila and Nadia Al Jundi, who also turned down her nomination, for the leading roles.

 

Mustafa had announced that the filming of the drama will take place at the Egyptian Media Production City and that Nadia will play the role of Raya and Nabila the role of Iskeena. The drama, which tells the story of two sisters who murder women and steal their jewelry, is scheduled to be ready for airing during the month of Ramadan, where number of viewers is the highest.

 

The scenarist had refused the Media Production’s nomination of Egyptian actresses Laila Elwi and Elham Shahin for the leading roles, stressing that he will not accept anyone beside Nadia and Nabila, but after the refusal of both woman to accept the roles he is placed in a very tight spot.
