In an attempt to change its image as a station that does not support young stars, the Egyptian television network held Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram on its live program “Al Bait Baitak”. This was not the first time Nancy appears on the oldest television network in the Arab world, but it is the first time she is live and is able to interact directly with viewers. Nancy answered to the numerous phone calls that were coming in and was flattered by the compliments she was receiving from the Egyptian population who expressed their joy at having her as the guest on the show.
According to the London based Elaph, Nancy amused her fans with her simple participation in the program that lasted almost two hours. During the show the singer sang a number of songs and talked about her latest work plans in addition to making scrambled eggs, stressing that she is a very good cook.
The program is known to be one of the most prestigious on Egyptian television and most stars who are invited to take part in the different episodes agree without any hesitation because they know it is of high standards. Egyptian prominent stars like Hussein Fahmi, Nadia Al Jundi, Nour El Sherif, Yusra and many others participated in the show without any financial compensation due to the main fact that were not attacked with silly pranks as is the case on other programs.
Nancy has refused to enter the Top Twenty Music Video competition aired on the satellite music channel Rotana unless her new song “Loan Oyounak” (The Color of Your Eyes) is placed in the number one spot. Nancy’s demand was immediately met by officials at Rotana, due to the fact that the show will surely achieve more success with Nancy in it.
This marks the second time Nancy enters the Top Twenty race even though she is not a member of Rotana Production company. It has been revealed that the company is treating Nancy in this manner because it is hoping to cut a deal with her and have her join their team of singers. –Albawaba.com
