The business manager, Pierre Asmar of Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi has denied circulating rumors the singer has resigned from her singing career and is in the process of immigrating to Canada. He added that the singer is in fact preparing for a new release which is expected to shake the music industry.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Asmar added that the possible cause of the rise of such rumors is the absence of Nawal from the music scenes. He added that Nawal has not scheduled any concerts in the Arab world or abroad in the meantime is due to the fact that she is waiting for the release of her upcoming album, after which the music industry will witness a turn in the course of events.

Asmar expressed that it is not suitable for Nawal to appear before her fans at the time without giving them something new. He added that it is not her style to sing old songs from previous albums to her audience when she is only moments away from a new release.

With regards to the rumor of her resignation and immigration that has been spreading all over Lebanon, it was said that the reason was a dispute that has occurred between the singer and her husband, Elli Deeb, over the fact that Elli had sponsored a concert for Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram. Asmar stressed that Nawal's husband has nothing to do with Nancy's career in any way, and that he only focuses on his wife's singing career. Asmar added that the singer will only hold concerts in Paris, London, and Jordan this summer, aside from a few private performances at weddings taking place in Lebanon.

Zoughbi is in the process of making a documentary film about her journey in life, focusing on her musical career. The film will include important instances in her life which affected her career in tremendous ways. The singer is to begin filming the documentary in the upcoming near future, and has made it a point to free herself of all other obligations until she is complete. The singer has released a new photograph that shows her new look and has revealed some of the details of her upcoming album which up till now has been made in complete secrecy.

Nawal revealed that her new album features ten songs sung in the Lebanese, Egyptian and Khaliji (Gulf) style. The singer has gone back to the classical genre mixing in a touch of traditional Lebanese Tarab. Nawal plans on shooting three songs in the form of a music video in which two are to be filmed in Turkey under the direction of Said Marouq, and the third song, which tells a drama story, under the direction of Salim Turk. –Albawaba.com
