Egyptian actress Nelly asked writer Faisal Nida to postpone the performance of the play “Al Mudarisoon Wa Durusihim” (The Teachers and Their Lessons) till the New Years holiday, so she can free herself to begin shooting the scenes of her upcoming TV entertainment series “Qasaqees Al Warak” (Paper cuts). The new series will feature 30 different singing performances, which are currently being written, by Nelly.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, each episode will revolve around a love story of one of the romantic figures in history, such as “Romeo and Juliet”. The wardrobe is currently being prepared and intensive rehearsal sessions are underway. Egyptian actors and actresses Samah Ahmad, Amina Riziq, Anwar and Hisham Abdul Hamid, and Fadia Abdul Ghani will costar with Nelly in the new series.

The comedy series Alo Rabe’ Marra (Hello for the Forth Time), marked Nelly’s return to the small screen after a two-year absence. The 15-episodes series was based on the late writer Bahgat Qamar’s story, scripted by Adel Anwar, directed by Sayyed Tantawi and costarring Mustafa Fahmi, Shwikar and Ahmed Rateb. The series tackles marital problems and the effect of money on the relationship between man and woman. At the same time, Nelly geared up for the TV series Kaf Al Arousa (Bride’s Palm) based on a pop song for children called Sousah Kaf Arousah.

Some performances and light songs appear in the drama, particularly in flashback scenes, in addition to other performances that fit into the story line itself. The performances are there to cast light on the dreamy and romantic character of the girl, who sees the bright side of life and who does not have a shred of jealousy or belligerence. – Albawaba.com
