Egyptian renowned actor Noor al Sherif expressed his hope that his play Lan Tasqot al Quds (Jerusalem Won’t Fall) which will kick off next Thursday on one of Amman’s stages for three consecutive days will witness big audience at the box office. This is anticipated in view of the fact that the proceeds from the play will be allocated for the Palestinian Intifada.
Sherif said in a press conference Tuesday night, “we are here in Amman to support the Palestinian Intifada at this difficult time during which the Palestinian people face the worst kind of oppression and suffering. This is the least we can offer to those who defend the nation’s honor and dignity and I hope the play proceeds will exceed our expectations.”
On the other hand Sherif reiterated his rejection of all forms of normalization with Israel and travel to the Palestinian National Authority Lands so that no Israeli police will touch his passport.
For his part the play director, Fahmi al Khouli said, “the play is about the crusaders invasion of Jerusalem about 1000 years ago but the circumstances then resemble those prevailing these days.”
