Prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif has revealed that he will begin shooting the first film under his direction during the beginning of the New Year, and specifically in the month of February. The actor has added that the film will be called “Al Tair Al Musafir” (The Traveling Bird).

Egyptian rising actor Ahmad Izz and Egyptian actress Yasmine have been nominated for the leading roles in the film, in addition to the possibility of Nour taking part in the film as well. The actor made his announcement during his presence at the Marrakech Film Festival, where he went to honor his dear friend prominent Egyptian director Yousif Shahin.

Nour stressed that he had intended on entering the directing business long ago but had made a wrong turn when he became too wrapped up in his acting career. Despite the success Nour has achieved during his long journey in the acting world, he still has regrets of not becoming a director instead.

On a similar note, El Sharif announced that he plans on presenting the life story of the late Palestinian President, whom he was very good friends with, in a new film. Nour revealed that he video taped the funeral ceremony held for the President in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Egypt and Ramallah in order to use them in the film, which he will begin work on once the morning period is over.

Nour stressed that he will seek a good scenarist to write the script of the film once he completes collecting all the needed research on the President’s life.
It was added that once a scenario is written he will move on to nominating stars from around the Arab world to take part in the film, which still has not found a source for funding it.

Nour has not found a source for producing and funding the film yet and is waiting until he completes all the necessary details to be able to decide on an appropriate budget. Sharif revealed that he is confused on the issue of direction whereas some have advised him to direct the film himself, while others stressed that he should seek a professional director with past experience in similar works in order for Nour to fully dedicate himself on the role he will play in the film.

Nour will play the role of Yasser during the last years of his journey specifically from the point where was under siege for thirty months in Ramallah. On a similar note, Nour had previously started working on making a movie about the late Hamas leader Al Sheikh Yaseen, who was assassinated by the Israelis, but had halted the project due to his occupation with different works.
