Prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif is preparing for his second film directing experience in the new film “Al Iskandarani”, which is written by Osama Anwar Okasha. The actor will also be playing the leading role as the most popular fish seller in Alexandria.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, Nour has nominated Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab for the leading female role. Filming of the scenes are to begin in the very near future in the city of Alexandria.
On a different note, El Sharif announced that he plans on presenting the life story of the late Palestinian President, whom he was very good friends with, in a new film. Nour revealed that he video taped the funeral ceremony held for the President in Egypt and Ramallah in order to use them in the film, which he will begin work on once the morning period is over.
Nour stressed that he will seek a good scenarist to write the script of the film once he completes collecting all the needed research on the President’s life.
It was added that once a scenario is written he will move on to nominating stars from around the Arab world to take part in the film, which still has not found a source for funding it.
Nour has not found a source for producing and funding the film yet and is waiting until he completes all the necessary details to be able to decide on an appropriate budget. Sharif revealed that he is confused on the issue of direction whereas some have advised him to direct the film himself, while others stressed that he should seek a professional director with past experience in similar works in order for Nour to fully dedicate himself on the role he will play in the film. Nour will play the role of Yasser during the last years of his journey specifically from the point where was under siege for thirty months in Ramallah.
