Omar El Sharif makes his first and last television debut

The Egyptian Media Production City has witnessed the signing of a new contract with prominent Egyptian actor Omar El Sharif for the leading role in his first television drama, which he will begin filming in March.

 

According to the London based Elaph, the drama will have the title “Haneen wa Hanan” (Caring and Compassion) and his longtime friend Ahmad Ramzi will also take part in the series.

 

The script was especially written for Omar by screen writer Enas Baker and prominent director Majdi Abu Amerieh will be in charge of direction.

 

The story of the drama revolves around a young man who immigrates to the US and spends many years there. The young man marries and has a daughter, who refuses her father’s wishes of returning to their origin and come home to Egypt.

 

Sharif revealed that the story of the drama is very similar to his real life story. Omar also revealed that the drama is his first and last work for television and may be his last acting job. The actor had always noted that his last contributions to the acting world will be through a television drama.
