If Ramadan TV ads had you screaming at the screen, Palestinian singer Qassem Najjar is with you. Except he's taking issue with the series themselves, which he feels completely ignored the important issues in the region.

Najjar's song 'Bombing the Arab Drama', which he wrote and performs himself, has been viewed over 300,000 times on YouTube since it was released just over two weeks ago, StepFeed reports.

The Palestinian hits out at the Egyptian series “Jewish Quarter” for its message of coexistence with the Israelis. He highlights the support the series received from the Israeli Embassy in Egypt, which posted on social media that the series “represents, for the first time, Jewish people in their real, humane nature, as human beings before anything else, and we bless this work.”

He neglects to mention that prominent members of Egypt's Jewish community denounced historical inaccuracies in the programme, as well as the embassy itself criticized the "negative turning point" in the series and "attacks against the state of Israel."

Najjar's song also criticizes Syrian series “Bab El Hara” and “Cello,” for their condoning of extramarital affairs and attitude of subservience to the wealthy. Ramez Galal's prank show doesn't escape unscathed either - the Palestinian singer thinks that all that production money could be better spent solving social problems.

All fair enough, but is 'Shelling of Arab Drama' even a good song? Listen and decide!
