Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab swapped her microphone for acting this year, and she's been hard at work making her acting debut.

We know that she has a sensational voice, but will her acting skill match those amazing vocals?

The series "Tareeqi" (My Road) is a story about a poor school girl who dreams of becoming a famous singer. However, due to her village-lifestyle and its people's old-fashioned mentality, she's not allowed to take up a career in singing - or even sing at home.

And because some of Sherine's fans are convinced that the drama depicts events from her real life, the screenwriter has changed many details in the script to avoid any confusion with the award-winning starlet's real-life journey to fame.

Not long to go before the series kicks off in Ramadan, which begins this Thursday, June 18.
