Egyptian actor Poussy admitted that she is still in love with her ex-husband actor Nour El Sharif, during a ceremony honoring the International Alexandria Cinema Festival.
“Nour represents a major part of my life, he was my husband for over thirty years,” said Poussy. She said that she respects and looks up to Nour, and their relationship remains strong despite the divorce.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Poussy discussed the many great memories she shares with Nour, which she will never forget. She and Nour could never become enemies, said Poussy, and their marriage ended because “we were both better off going our separate ways.”
Previously Poussy refused to comment regarding the reasons behind her divorce from Nour, after a 33-year marriage.
The actress stated that Nour visits his daughters on a regular basis and she does not intend to restrict his parental visits. She added that her daughters are old enough to understand that their parents divorce does not mean the end of their close relationship with their father.
Nour confirmed that the two have divorced, without giving any clear reasons. He denied the divorce at first to postpone the negative publicity in an effort to protect his daughters, said Nour.
