Actress Raghda is currently reading the script of the second part of the Egyptian TV series Al Barr Al Gharbi (The West Bank) which will be ready for shooting very soon, according to the local press.
Directed by Ismael Abdel Hafez, written by Mohamed Galal Abdel Kawi and costarred by Farouk Al Fishawi, Sanaa Gamil, Sawsan Badr and Ezzat Abu Ouf, the first part of the series which was screened during the first half of last Ramadan, achieved a remarkable success.
Al Barr Al Gharbi explores a love story before 1948 war and the effect of this war on Egypt and the public attitude towards it.
The love story is between an English girl (Raghda) and a young Egyptian translator (Fishawi) who lives in Nazlat Assaman. Despite the marriage of the young man to one of his relatives, his relationship with the English girl is still intimate. But when it comes to patriotism, which requires putting an end to this relationship, he sacrifices his passions and chooses loyalty to his homeland and the society in which he was raised.
The series reveals the looseness of some Pasha (played by Abu Ouf) and their commitment to the British stance. While the young Egyptian translator who is deeply in love with the British noble girl nixes to do that.
The translator does not hesitate to send his brother in law on the second day of hi wedding to join the Egyptian army fighting in Palestine and announce clearly that the Jewish entity, which the British want to invaginate there, should be uprooted -- Albawaba.com
